Keyword search, please 🙏 (for KW manager and IPTC/XML/Exif keywords pane)

It´s great to have a user set of keywords and ability to bring/build one’s own controlled vocabulary!

But with bigger sets KWs can easily drown in more complex hierarchies/vocabularies. People working more regularly/extensively/professionally with these will know, they really need a search function for bigger sizes/sets.

All the good DAM-apps have this in some shape or form, bec. otherwise searching larger keyword trees purely by memory/browsing-by-foot can become extremely cumbersome.

So, this is a request for a local search function within the KW-manager and -picker :slightly_smiling_face: :point_up_2:

Just as additional aspect: combining this with a user thesaurus (the already rudimentarily implemented synonym function) would really easily make MetaImage unique and uniquely useful in the field! :rocket: (see this request)

PS: I also think the preset manager would become 10x more versatile and useful, would it have a search function allowing to find presets based on content elements :blush:

Thank you so much for your suggestion!

Right now, my main priority is to finish and release the next major update of MetaImage. But your request is definitely noted in my to-do list.

With the new version, keywords and presets will be backed by SwiftData, which will make it much easier and more efficient to add features like keyword search and an improved thesaurus system in the future. So it might not be there on day one, but it’s certainly something I’ll keep in mind for upcoming improvements.

It truly helps me keep making MetaImage better!
