Entering the time zone part in XMP Create Date

Hey,

I’m currently using the trial version of MetaImage to see if it fits my needs. One thing I was wondering: is it possible to enter the time zone offset in the XMP:CreateDate field? When I double click to edit it, it only shows the date and time, e.g. “11/23/2024, 9:35:36 PM”, but XMP:CreateDate should be able to take the offset as well, e.g. “11/23/2024, 9:35:36 PM-04:00”. I have images with the timezone in the field which I can see when using exiftool on the command line. Is it not possible to enter the time zone offset as a part of it? I know the EXIF date time fields such as EXIF:DateTimeOriginal don’t take the timezone offset, and instead use the “Offset Time Original” field to indicate the timezone, but the XMP time fields should be able to. Or does MetaImage automatically write the time zone to the end of the XMP tag using what’s in “Offset Time Original” without showing you?

Hello there,

MetaImage currently doesn’t write time zone information to XMP tags, but it does read them. This is something that’s on MetaImage’s and MetaVideo’s TODO list.

Best regards,
Jérémy
